I have a Makita DCS7900 its the same as the 7901 but with out the de-comp starter. The 7900/7801 is the Dolmar PS7900 in the US. DCS = Dolmar Chain Saw. All chainsaw stickies are here. The main differences are the "dished" piston and the much more restricted muffler of the 261. The clutch is also different - weaker on the 261. The 372 mainly to get anything that the 350 can't because it's much easier on gas and easier to handle. The most obvious differences is that the 2171 (and Husky 372xp) has a side access chain tensioner, and weights .3 kg (2/3 lbs) more. From what I have read earlier the added weight probably has something to do with correction of weaknesses in the original design (Husky 371/Jred 2071), but I am far from sure ....
